Picking out an outfit for concerts is one of my favorites. I love going a little edgier for shows and dreaming I'm up on stage as if I am one of the singers. The accessories consist of: the hat, neck scarf, sequined purse and fun boots. They really spice up the outfit. Also, I can't get over this metallic pink jacket find from Buffalo! I'm not sure what is more of the statement piece, my metallic jacket or cheetah print velvet booties? I'll let you be the judge of that ;).
Recently Leo and I had the opportunity to see Oh Wonder live for the second year in a row. We finally got to experience a show at Phoenix's newest venue, The Van Buren, which is definitely our NEW favorite! Going to concerts is one of our favorite things (unfortunately we had no pictures taken together). Side note: my husband is the man always stuck behind the camera haha. He is a true champ. We met up with some friends, grabbed some appetizers and drinks and danced and sang the entire night! I also might have taken a bunch of selfies with one of my besties...what else is new. The opener, Jaymes Young, is another great artist we love! The Van Buren has an amazing courtyard that will come in handy when the weather cools down a bit and the venue doesn't disappoint in aesthetics.
The Van Buren used to house the Phoenix Motor Company which was a dealership that sold Chevrolets and Buicks (historic photo below), the venue is pretty open and a lot of the original architecture is still intact. They did a great job on all the finishes and have two beautiful murals of desert landscape by the stage. The venue has an upstairs area called the Mezzanine which we hope to explore at the next show, which will probably be LANY! Leo is an audio engineer, so he naturally gravitates to areas in venues that have the greatest sound (usually around the soundboard area).
